  I am a Christian and I don’t have a problem with legalizing gay marriages. Is it against my beliefs? Yes it is but it does not affect me and would not hurt me. I say give them all the benefits that all married people have. It won’t change my life in any way. I am not one to judge. It is my job to love and respect regardless of sexual orientation so therefore, I will continue to do so.

  Christians find it intoxicating that they have a sense of ‘duty’ to ’save’ people from ’sin’. Preaching the evils of homosexuality gives them a sense of purpose in life because they have nothing else to think about. Why? They are lonely, pathetic people.

  I love how you libs throw out terms like calling anyone against gay marriage a homophobe… yet if the tide was turned you would be crying for public support and a nice fat settlement check cause you were offended… get a life.
  This has been explained time and time again through various forms of media, but when you don’t pay attention to anything but CNN or MSNBC or your local news you don’t get the full story. Pay attention to other media and you will get it..

  becuase nations shall be judged and I don’t want to be reponsible for judgement on anyone going against the word of God.

  Question to you – what will do when one or all of your children tell you they are gay? Because it will be completely normal in just a few years if people don’t stand up for the TRUTH of God.

  You’re right, it wouldn’t affect my life in any way,shape, or form. I just don’t understand why they want to be married so friggin’ bad. If they get married, they’ll get divorces. Do they really want to be responsible for the creation of more lawyers? Cripes! I know if I was gay, I would want to stay single. The other thing I don’t get is why they want to raise children. They can’t actually procreate which is kind of the whole reason marriage was started to begin with. I feel that marriage is holy (i.e. "holy matrimony") and that as ordained by God it can only be between a man and a woman but we kind of demolished that definition eons ago in America when we legalized no-fault divorce. Since marriage is effectively a sham anyway I say let ‘em go for it.

  I could never understand the why people don’t like gay marriages… I think it may be a generational thing….but as for me….I really don’t care. If a gay/lesbian couple wants to marry I would say let them get married. Geesh. I don’t know what the big deal is….I really don’t.

  50% of all marriages end in divorce…so what the hell are these anti-gay marriage people know?

  I’m canadian…none of our churches have collapsed or been struck down by lightning bolts…..the moral fabric or our society is still in place.

  It is their right, it is their right to get benefits as a married couple. They work and pay taxes just as straight married couples. Who am I to say what is right, I do not hang out in their bed room, and straight people are not angles.

  I don’t understand how a God loving/fearing Christan can hate some one for who they love that is not a Christan

  As far as kids not understanding people do not give kids enough credit I have a brother who is gay and my 6yr old knows and yes she does understand

  I had some one (a Christan) tell me as I left an abusive relationship "You cant live with those kind" but she did not offer me and my child a place to sleep…..go figure

  I think we should follow tradition and keep the marriages between a man and a woman. Yeah, I somewhat believe everyone should have equal rights- but not when it’s contervisial or wrong. And we should always try not to judge. I wouldn’t mind having a friend who chose to be gay- and the people do choose the lifestyle. Just as long as they weren’t trying to force their opinions on why I don’t approve of it and I should approve of it on me. No, I will never support it. It’s tradition to keep marriage the way it originally was- a man and a woman. And the people that choose the alternate lifestyle should be treated equally- just like everyone else- except for asking for certain rights and the right to marry. However, this whole thing on equal rights and gays are really gray to me, and I think the equal rights should only be treating them the same way as anybody else just don’t give them certain rights.

  It is not an equal rights issue. This is a farce perpetuated by pro-gay marriage and secular people.

  Gay marriage is a legislative issue. The framers set up the Constitution to have elected legislatures address these issues. After all, if you do not like the law, elect people who will change it. The problem is the courts have decided that they make new laws. In a free society, we must have laws that are created by people who are accountable.

  I used to be for civil unions because I felt that who cares. I watched the religious conservatives make their arguments and I decided their position is better. Marriage is not a right, but a legal recognititon. It has been defined for thousands of years as a union between 1 man and 1 woman. It was also set up to raise a family, which gays cannot do. They cannot procreate.

  Also, I looked at how gay marriage has destroyed marriage in the countries it has been implemented in. Marriage has no longer become a priority there. The same can be said for here. Children need a mom and a dad. Too many families do not exist like this and it shows in society.

  To address your first question, having gay marriage will eliminate the specialness of marriage. This will destroy our family structure. We have enough problems as it is. It floors me how acceptable many people think being a single mom is.

  it’s seems the majority of them are unable to answer without giving a religious or stereotypical hateful "it’s sick" "it’s wrong" response. none can give a legitimate, unbiased response. show us actual (not made up or assumed or bigoted) FACTS that PROVE that gay marriage effects them personally in any way!
