Obviously, you wait until marriage to have sex according to the Bible. But should you also wait that long to kiss. My very religious GF was originally planning to wait for marriage to kiss (that plan inevitably failed when we were together a while).
She will not go any further obviously, which is completely fine by me, but it got me wondering about what you are actually supposed to do. What is the consensus among most denominations about proper dating behavior in today’s world? This is not 20 b.c. when you just met a girl at 15 years old and married a week later…. It’s a little different nowadays.
I stopped going to church when I was twelve so I missed out on all the lectures about this… But was wondering how all the preachers are facing this. Are they just encouraging restraint or young marriage? What’s the deal? thanks, peace
but then they get their religion out and talk about it in every concievable instance that they can. If it’s personal, I say keep it that way, to yourself. I’m offended by it.
Is your religion actually necessary to build a bond between you and God?
Do you need middlemen?
Spare me the scripture copy/paste, please…
I want to hear you, not books…
Christians: dear heavenly father how much do you love me?
Heavenly father: if it was not for my son I would have you screaming in hell for ever and ever. You would never see me in heaven, for you do not know my righteousness. Be thank full for my son’s sacrifice. That his PERFECT ways was shed for your sin full ways.
Christians always say he loves me because he sent his son to die for me…..I am just interpreting the blind. DO I have it right?
That the father really hates you?????? why not get God to change your ways and walk like Jesus? instead of thanking Jesus for the cross and never "becoming" perfect?
If a doctor comes to you and offers you a vaccine against disease, prolonging your life by 10 years on average, will you take it? What if a few years later he wants to slow the progress of cancer cell formation and spread in your body? And a few years later wants to operate your heart to make it 100% immune to heart attacks? A few years later, a pill that would make you immune to UV radiation altogether? Then, a stem cell treatment that renewes your body cells and make your body younger, like when you were 20 or 30? Then, a complete cure for cancer? Then, an immunity from the horrible disease of the future that makes people spontaneously combust and killed half of the world population in just one week?
Will you accept the life-prolonging treatment of the doctors every time, or will at some point you say "I see where this is going and I don’t want to live forever, now leave me alone and let me die, it’s time to meet God?"
Do you think doctors really can interfere with God’s plan?
Just to answer that last comment: Yeah, plenty of people rejected outright immortality, but it seems an incremental one is accepted by all. Interesting…

What kind of influence from other Christians worked best for you personally? Was it
1. Others threatening you with hell and damnation?
2. Or quoting the bible to you?
3. Was it others showing how blissful and happy they were since they chose to follow God?
4. Or was it the loving behavior you saw among Christians and the loving behavior they showed to you?
5. Or was it the glitz and glamor of the megachurches?
6. Did you just like the taste of the communion wafers and the smell of incense?
What was it? And do you think all other people respond to that stimulus the same way you did?
c) Your parents said he exist?
Dont you find it hard to believe such a divine, all-knowing, opmnipotent, omnipresence being, without and proof or evidence?
And the fact that he is all loving & can see every step we make when the world population is about 6 billion?
Please share your thoughts.
Please share your personal relationship with god and your logic.
Well, in order to believe, you atleast need some logic to it…if someone throw me a rock and say that is god who created this whole universe, do you think im just going put my ‘faith’ and just believe it?
if you get in a relationship and you put God as your number one and that never changes than what could possibly go wrong? and what does the Bible say about soulmates, i know God has a plan for everyone but were does it say we cant choose who we want to be with, expecially if your both Christians?! please give me some scriptures on this if there is any i need all the help i can get from you guys.
Blessings,
Rachel
If so, then why are so many professing believers intent on making the law part of their life? Doesn’t scripture tell us that we are "delivered from the law?" Comments?
"Christ is the END of the law unto righteousness to all them that BELIEVE."
"…we are delivered FROM the law…"
"no man will be justified by the works of the law in His sight."
Looks like folks don’t really understand how God DOES make a man righteous!
"He made him who knew no sin to BE sin for us, that we might be MADE the righteousness of God IN HIM."
The purpose of the law was NEVER to make a man righteous, but to point a man to the ONLY RIGHTEOUS ONE for the righteousness which God provides as a GIFT for trusting in the faithfulness of Christ.
Christians claim to have a "personal" relationship with Jesus. I find this an impossibility since Jesus has never appeared to anyone "in the flesh".
Please explain in detail (don’t bother answering if you are only going to offer some glib, three-word, canned Xian response; I’ve heard them all before) how someone can "believe" so strongly that they have a personal relationship with someone they have never met and may very well not even exist.
I may not end up believing you but I might better understand the machinations of your mind when you have explained yourselves.
To my fellow non-religionists: Doesn’t this sound like a mental illness to you? Or is it simply naïveté, like when a child firmly believes in the existence of Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy?
As always, thanks for your thoughtful responses.
