I’m interested in someone in my art class who’s an atheist. He just asked me out and I wanted to say yes, but I said "I’ll think about it" since he doesn’t know I’m a Christian. I’m not sure if I should say yes and tell him that I’m a Christian. When I dated some atheists in the past, they weren’t respectful to me or my religion and they tried their best to pull me away from Christianity.
If you’re a Christian that have been in a relationship (whether dating or marriage) with an atheist, did it work out well? Tell me your experience(s).
Since I’m interested in this guy, I just want to move on and forget about the guy I’ve been in love with for five years who already has a girlfriend (if you’re curious about it, check out my other questions).
Ive noticed in recent years that people have been turning to faith related books rather than reading the Word of the Lord. Why is that? Also dont you think that the best Word that you could ever get would be through God directly. Not through an author who has diluted it?
Please answer sensibly.
More answers please if you can,and star if you can !
When I admit that I was once a christian, though now an atheist, the most common responses are: my belief was weak, i was focused on people rather than god, i let satan in…
I can tell you from the bottom of my heart, my passion was there, I was NOT focused on others… I genuinely believed god was real, and that he sent his son to save me. WHY do you find it necessary to assume I am lying? Perhaps it’s your way of avoiding the fear of the possibility that god really doesn’t exist?
LOOK! They’re doing it now…
go figure…
And what scriptural advice do you have to back it up?
Differing opinions among CHRISTIANS are welcome.
Thanks
Does the Gospel address the issue of guilt coming between us and the Lord?
Do some people suffer from false guilt because they have an "overactive conscience"?
Do you think that you can have a relationship with Christ outside of religion?
…as one who never calls himself a Christian, but studies the bible and still has a close and initimate relationship with Jesus Christ does?
…or do you think that tradition, along with going to a physical church, etc, are necessities for your walk of faith?
Do you look down on or have less respect for Christains who don’t practice the faith as you were taught to?
I appreciate your input. Thanks!

I didn’t say don’t go to a physical church.
Some people’s idea of church is different than yours, however.
Some people view church as sitting on their front porch on Sunday morning in fellowship with their family members.
Church is a great thing… but is it necessary for all believers to have a personal and intimate relationship with Christ, in your opinion?

Just because this is Cyber does not always mean that when they say I love you they mean it.
I mean relationship *with* people
im 19, and a havent really had a gf yet. ive heard about times when some girl might like me and there have been times that ive had chances to talk to some cute girls, but i was younger, dumb and didnt realize it at the time, or i w8ed too late and blew it. im in community college now and its hard to meet girls up there, cuz once class is over most ppl go home or to work. most of my friends are having sex and im not. they talk about girls they’ve been with and stuff and im jealous. for lack of a better word im horny. is part of God’s plan for me too not have a girlfriend yet. i know im pose to stay pure, until marriage but its hard and i get pretty lonely at times. i mean i try to live as holy as i can. could it be that becuz i dont really hang out with the right friends that i am being punished. i sometimes swear alot but i always beg God for forgiveness. would it be wrong to pray to God for a girlfriend. whats the deal?
its not that im some type of "pussy" or loser. i know im attractive, and have been told that by females. i would ask a girl out if i got the chance, in fact i have several times; the plans jus always seem to fall through. i jus feel like im being punished. or maybe God knows that if i date i will have sex, (cuz i really want to) so he’s preventing me too date right now.
