My weaker but prettier half Nermina and I have a wonderful daughter named Mirela, who at the tender age of 8 is already making her mark on this world. Her five year old brother is almost useless, but that’s another story for another time.
My fear is, a lot of her peers don’t seem to understand what a good woman is put on this earth to do. For instance, her friend Zehra recently was invited to have supper with us. She told us while eating, “I want to be a race car driver someday!” After letting her finish her meal, I took her home early and told Mirela this wasn’t what God would have intended. If she is interested in that kind of endeavor, there are plenty of good Christian men who race cars that would marry her.
This is why we are thinking of home schooling her next year. Can you imagine some of the influences she’ll get when she starts junior high school? Goodness, she’ll be tattooed and pregnant by 14.
I believe it is important for her to learn early what her natural God given tendencies truly are. As I quote from Exodus almost nightly at our supper table;
"Their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods." Exodus 34:16
My daughter partakes in nightly scripture studies with some of the older kids at our church. It’s usually only about 4 nights a week, but she is already starting to get some of the basics down.
Do you have some advice on how to continue my daughter on a path that Jesus would be proud of? She only has 9-10 years to get ready, and I’m already nervous!
Blessings,
Kermit
If you are against gay marriage, why do you think there are straight people who are for gay marriage, not just gay people? Also, why do you think there are Christians, not just non-Christians who are for gay marriage?
A seperate question, but one I am curious to, some people have compared this to the issue of whites and blacks getting married. Do you feel this is a fair or unfair comparrison? I’ve heard it stated that because people had no choice in being white or black that its ok for them to be married. Is this your position?
I see more and more Christians getting divorced, do you beleive that people marry for the wrong reasons and that couples in the christian circle do not marry in the will and timing of God?
What are ways to encourage Christians going through a divorce?
I am not married but I see several miserable marriages. I fear marrying somone and things being great at the beginning and then going down hill. What are the secrets to keeping:
The romance alive
The sex life great
The emotional intimacy there
The enjoyment of their company and
Just getting along
Please give number of years married when answering.
How do you feel about people who commit fornication and later come to Christ? Does God forgive their sins and give them a clean slate, or do you believe that sex equals marriage and they should be bound to the person they had sex with for life?
I’m particularly interested in the opinion that "sex = marriage, so if the person then marries someone else that would be adultery". Why would someone believe that?
It’s for a story I’m writing. I need viewpoints. Thanks.
i have seen/heard people say that God is against marriages of different faiths, and had people warn me against marrying my fiance because he is not a christian like me, he has lost his faith.. but what if we were already married, and he Then lost it. would our marriage then become sinful?
If Christianity itself preaches that a man and woman’s feelings of lust has to be restricted within marriage, then why even allow people to date? Aren’t dating and having sex, in themselves, expressions of lust?
Why not have an Arranged Marriage system where two people are chosen to be married by the priest & then they can do whatever they want?
what ~earthly~ legal contracts other people enter into? When Adam and Steve make a legal contract (marriage) it has no bearing on your ~Christian~ marriage ritual for yourself and like-minded spouse and family and priest, et cetera … correct?
I mean Christians are always quick to point out how God’s law trumps man’s law. So then why do you interfere with man’s law at all, when man’s law is made for the rest of us who don’t believe as you do? Why won’t you let God administer His own laws?
Avatars … you are missing (and not addressing) the point. It’s not your business whether Adam and Steve extinct themselves (in fact, I would think it would make you happy if they did).
Never heard of a country withering (!) because it’s citizens minded their own business … methinks you are being melodramatic. Regardless, you still don’t have the right to force your concept of morals down the throats of others, not even because you say so. (Your ilk are constantly inventing rights for themselves based on nothing more than just because they say so.)
This is fairly tangential (Da Mick, you are missing the point too), but why do chimpanzees sodomize each other in the wild on National Geographic (they appear bisexual)? Lifestyle choice?
